Looking for ways to incorporate more African American History into your lessons? Why not use Wonderopolis? That's right, they've put together one new tidbit for each weekday this month that aligns with the wonders of the day. Today, for example, the wonder is about the potential 9th planet in our solar system. The featured history bit is about Benjamin Banneker, an astronomer (among many other interesting vocations) who helped to create celestial maps in his time. If not for these wonders, I wouldn't know about him! I have learned so much scanning back through the February wonders. Check them out today! For more information on Banneker, visit this encyclopedia entry.
