Ashley McKelvey

Ashley McKelvey began her career as a classroom teacher. She held that position for 10 years before moving to Oakland Elementary where she began serving as the math – science curriculum coach in 2012. Mrs. McKelvey holds a B.A. from the University of South Carolina. She also holds M.A.’s from both Southern Wesleyan University and Converse College. She has participated in curriculum writing and assessment projects for Spartanburg School District Two and Five. She has presented at various conferences including SCCTM, PSGI, Spartanburg Writing Project, ASCD Unconference, and TransformSC on the topics of inquiry and PBL. Mrs. McKelvey is also an adjunct professor at Converse College where she is currently teaching a class titled Teaching Student Centered Mathematics. Ashley loves to exercise her creativity by constantly “wondering, tinkering, and making!”
