Objective

In celebration of Women's Herstory Month, students will tell about a woman who changed the world and how she inspires them.

Big Idea

How have women changed the world?

Students watch this video about Madame CJ Walker. Write 3 facts, 2 aha moments, and 1 question. Students share in small groups and one aloud in large group.

Students will read from a collection of Wonders of the Day® about women who have made a lasting impact in our world. Students will choose from 3-4 articles to read, choosing how they will take notes (brainstorming, circle maps, bullets, etc.)

Students will use information from articles to create a final product on this Seesaw activity.

The activity requires students to:

  • In celebration of Women's History Month, tell about a woman who changed the world and how she inspires you using evidence from the articles.
