- Biography: Samantha Brasdis is a 7th grade reading teacher at Northside Middle School in Norfolk, Virginia. She enjoys an active life with her fiancée Frank and son, Allan. When it comes to the ways in which WONDER inspires the Brasdis-Nixon family, Samantha says, “Thoreau has an amazing quote that kind of sums up how wondering inspires us. He says, ‘The moment we cease to wonder, is the exact moment we cease to live.’ We want to live our lives to the fullest, and we have found that the only way that is possible is through wonder and imagination.”
