There are so many things to celebrate all the time ...

So many things to wonder about ...

And I just missed National Play Doh Day!

I found this on the Neatorama Site:

Did you know today is National Play-Doh Day? While most of us without kids might not have any of the clay on hand to celebrate, we certainly can remember the great times we had with it as youngsters and honor the wonderful product by taking a look at its fascinating history.

I found this on the Year of Living Unofficially site:

September 16th is National Play-Doh Day, a day to enjoy the fun colorful modeling compound in an effort to rediscover the creativity we all had as small children. Play-Doh, which is composed of flour, water, salt, boric acid, and silicone oil, was originally manufactured as a putty-like wallpaper cleaner in the 1930s. Two decades later when it was discovered that a teacher was using the non-toxic, non-staining substance for arts and crafts projects the compound was reworked and sold to schools in Cincinnati. With great marketing campaigns and a natural appeal, Play-Doh quickly became a popular children’s toy. Over two billion cans were sold between 1955 and 2005 in over 75 countries around the world.

I think it is very interesting to find out how things like Play-Doh got their start ... maybe it is just something to wonder about ...

Did you know Wonder #582 is Who Invented Play Dough?

I think one of the best things about finding information on Wonderopolis is that not only can you find great non-fiction information, but also things to do and make as well as words to learn to go along with the topic!

If you want to see what other (relatively unknown) holidays are coming up, The Ultimate Holiday site is a fun place to look ...

Go explore!

Since today is  day to celebrate CheeseBurgers and Rice Krispy Treats, maybe I need to make my way into the kitchen to help celebrate!
