Into the Summer

Fines Family

I'm a little over a week into my summer vacation. I've been hard at work being "Mr. Mom".  I have to admit that having the extra time is wonderful. I have a list of things to do and I've been methodically checking them off. Rooms to clean, gardens to grow, errands to run. I've found that when the weather is sunny and beautiful, there's no end to my motivation. The past two days, uhhh - not so much. It's been cloudy, cold, and rainy. We've been outdoors and active most days, but the weather the last couple of days has kept us inside.

So yesterday my son Jack decided to write a book. Wonderopolis was featured on one of the pages. I'm thankful that he has the motivation to read and write, and chooses to do so when he's not outside being a ninja, spy, Harry Potter, or a parkour athelete with his little brother.  I think it also helps that we decided to put some limits on our technology time. I'll usually check Wonderopolis before I close out the laptop for the day. Today we learned about egg-laying mammals. Once the technology is off  I don't have to spend too much time telling them "no", they just naturally ask less about it when they're filling their time doing other things. Funny how that works.

Hope you all are having a wonderful day!
